If you are interested in getting the best quality stain, our Bielschowsky's Stain Kit (Modified) provides for the crisp histological visualization of nerve fibers, neurofibrillary tangles and senile plaques in Alzheimer's disease and other neurodegenerative disorders. This kit has been optimized to allow for variable slide batch sizes, and the developing step can be controlled on a slide-by-slide basis to achieve optimal staining and differentiation. This kit delivers excellent stable staining quality, with minimal overstains, and a low level of background.
This economical kit contains sufficient reagents to stain up to 300 slides.
Neurofibrillary Tangles: Black
Senile Plaques: Black
Nuclei: Dark Brown
Background: Yellow to Light Brown
Our kit is designed for staining myelin/myelinated axons and Nissil substance on formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue as well as frozen tissue. Our kit is used for identifying the basic neuronal structure in brain or spinal cord sections, and contains a Cresyl Echt Violet counterstain. Using our protocol and the modified formulation, myelinated tissue can be stained in as little as 30 minutes.
The Acid Fast Bacteria (AFB) Stain Kit is intended for use in the histological visualization of Acid Fast Bacteria and Tubercle Bacilli. This kit is a rapid 15-minute procedure. The lipoid capsule of the acid-fast organism takes up carbol fuchsin and resists decolorization.
Acid Fast Organisms: Bright Red
Background: Light Green
These Acid Fast Bacteria (AFB) Animal Control Slides contain sections of positive staining goat intestine and negative staining human lung. The positive control slides are intended to be used to verify histological techniques and reagent reactivity, and are not intended to be used for any quantitative purpose.
Tissues are formaldehyde-fixed, paraffin-embedded, heat dried, and cut at 5 microns unless otherwise specified. Standard tissue placement is mid-range of slide.
