Hollande's is a fixative useful for routine procedures, and is widely used as a fixative for biopsy specimens of the gastrointestinal tract. Hollande's contains formaldehyde for cytoplasmic fixation. It is stable and will decalcify small bone specimens. Tissue that is fixed with Hollande's can be stained successfully with most stains, and the cupric acetate in the solution stabilizes red blood cell membranes and cosinophil and endocrine cell granules so that less lysis occurs than with Bouin's solution.

Description
Our kit is designed for staining myelin/myelinated axons and Nissil substance on formalin fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue as well as frozen tissue. Our kit is used for identifying the basic neuronal structure in brain or spinal cord sections, and contains a Cresyl Echt Violet counterstain. Using our protocol and the modified formulation, myelinated tissue can be stained in as little as 30 minutes.
